Do you know who to call in the event of a pet emergency?

As a pet owner, you never want to see your animal family member in distress. Unfortunately, unexpected illnesses and sudden accidents happen. At Royal Oaks Veterinary Hospital, we want you to know that you’ve got a dedicated team of experienced professionals in your corner.

Our hospital and staff are equipped to provide life-saving critical care at a moment’s notice. We’ll quickly diagnose the problem and deliver timely and effective care. Most importantly, we’ll handle your pet’s case with the utmost compassion, doing everything possible to achieve a positive outcome.

Some of the signs that your pet may need urgent medical attention include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object
  • Broken bones
  • Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Vomiting or diarrhea lasting longer than 24 hours
  • Bleeding
  • Trauma, such as from a fall or being hit by a car
  • Swollen or tender abdomen
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Lameness
  • Disorientation
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Convulsions/seizures
  • Loss of consciousness

If you notice any of these signs, seek help right away. At Royal Oaks Veterinary Hospital, we always recommend calling ahead when an emergency occurs. This allows us to evaluate the situation, provide first aid instructions and prepare the hospital and our team for your pet’s arrival.
