Ick! What are ticks? Tick are skin parasites that consume on the blood of their host. There are different species of ticks; Deer Tick, Brown Tick, American Dog tick, and many more. Found commonly on dogs, Ticks can also be seen on cats, rodents, small mammals and sometimes human. A female tick can lay up to 3,000 eggs! Ticks carry many diseases and although the bite itself isn’t painful but it can cause tick paralysis, that’s why tick prevention is very important. If your pet is having ticks, contact your veterinary practice for removal and prevention.
