Dental X-Ray
August 20, 2016

During every dental that is performed in our hospital, x-rays are done to ensure complete evaluation of our pet’s mouth. On the surface, a tooth may look good but upon x-rays, we can determine if anything is fractured, chipped or root is compromised. If a problem with the tooth is found we recommend extraction to prevent severe infections from developing. Unfortunately antibiotics will not resolve the infection, it’s temporary. Teeth that develop infection need to be pulled. Luckily, they recover very well and will still have plenty of teeth to eat!
